June 2024At this year’s leading trade fair EUROBIKE, the international transport and logistics company Gebrüder Weiss will present logistics solutions for the bicycle industry from July 3 to 7, 2024, in Frankfurt am Main. German manufacturers produced three million bicycles and e-bikes in 2023, both domestically and abroad. In Germany alone, bikes worth a total of seven billion euros were sold last year.
(Lauterach/Frankfurt-Main) Whether forks from China, frames from Vietnam, high-end components from Taiwan, or derailleurs from Japan: “A bicycle can consist of up to 1,000 parts. The bicycle industry sources globally,” explains Martti Leitert, Sales Manager Air & Sea Germany at Gebrüder Weiss. “In our global network of locations close to the procurement markets, we manage supply chains for components and finished bicycles to and from Asia, North America, and Eastern Europe – via air, sea, and rail transport within precisely defined time windows.” This includes tailored value-added services, from warehousing and distribution to customs clearance and packaging. Renowned German bicycle brands such as Merida, Storck, and Advanced Bikes rely on the logistics solutions from Gebrüder Weiss.
Support for Cycling and a Dedicated Cycling Competition
Gebrüder Weiss is not only an expert in bicycle logistics but has also been committed to professional and recreational cycling for many years. Cycling competitions such as the Tour of Austria and the Kitzbühel Cycling Marathon are supported. In the international competition GWcycles, cycling enthusiasts around the world are once again encouraged to pedal hard this year for a reforestation project. The goal of this sporting competition is set high for 2024: to cycle the distance to the moon and back. For the international participants, the challenge is to cover the distance of 768,800 kilometers by September 30.
