12. July 2024
Meeting of Ports from Latvia, Lübeck, and Hamburg in Riga
16. July 2024“Everything but ordinary” – A play on words that perfectly summarizes the services, products, and expertise of Terberg Special Vehicles GmbH. With the claim “Where special comes as standard,” the market-leading provider of special vehicles emphasizes its deep expertise, high quality standards, and broad range of services. With a strong standing in the industry, Terberg GmbH ensures smooth operations in the heavy-duty industry in the German-speaking region.
(Pressebox: Hamburg) A special vehicle from Terberg stands for high reliability and sustainable benefits, even for very specific tasks. No matter how “special” these requirements may turn out to be: Terberg’s own claim is nothing less than to offer only the best in terms of customer satisfaction and a holistic logistics solution.
Logistics Excellence through Experience, Successes, and Innovations
Terberg Special Vehicles GmbH has been an expert in sales, rental, maintenance, and repair of intralogistics vehicles for nearly all specific challenges since 2007. As a 100% subsidiary of the Dutch family-owned company Royal Terberg Group, the sales and service in the D-A-CH region, with its headquarters in Hamburg, can build on a solid tradition and pronounced spirit of innovation.
The solution-oriented approach of the entire team is a central aspect of Terberg Special Vehicles GmbH. Just as special as the vehicles in their respective areas of application, the market leader acts and reacts individually with proven products and comprehensive services “from a single source.” In this cosmos, the in-house service network also plays a significant role. As the only industry representative in the field of special vehicles, the specialist is quickly and easily available to its customers with qualified technicians at several service points throughout Germany.
Diverse and Future-Oriented
With the delivered special vehicle, whether brand new, used through the “Terberg Used” brokerage, or as a rental vehicle through “Terberg Rental,” Terberg’s work does not end there. The service teams at a total of 10 locations across Germany provide quick assistance in the form of professional maintenance and repairs as well as comprehensive consulting services. The range of vehicles and services includes everything from the YT tractor to the swap body mover to the RoRo tractor, optionally powered conventionally or fully electrically.
The model range is based on extensively field-tested technology and proven success concepts, continuously developed in their respective areas of application. Driven by innovation, the Terberg brand has always been at the forefront: Modern technologies that are in tune with the times and aligned with customer needs are standard criteria for vehicle development. Not so obvious is the fact that Terberg introduced the fully electronic special vehicle into intralogistics very early on. In 2013, the sustainable drive concept was a small sensation, which is now already in its 3rd generation as a standard.
In principle, alternative drive forms and future-oriented concepts find fertile ground at Terberg. Hydrogen-powered special vehicles and semi-autonomous driving are also being extensively tested.
Not every mind that deals with logistical tasks on a daily basis immediately has Terberg’s special vehicles on their radar. In light of the facts, however, a large part of the daily consumer goods is moved by Terberg vehicles. “Our focus is on flawless quality and customer-oriented solutions,” emphasizes Managing Director Arno Ortlieb. “Logistics managers and employees come into contact with Terberg much more frequently in their daily work than they often realize. Our established technology and quality form a cornerstone in many logistics infrastructures.”
Moving a lot with little attention
Terberg is thus the “Hidden Hero” in logistics, moving a lot while attracting little attention. The character of the down-to-earth family business is also reflected in the approximately 130-member team, which is distributed from the headquarters in Hamburg to the south in Elchingen. “We work hand in hand internally and offer external solutions from a single source. This means that our internal communication and the ability to resonate on the same wavelength are the key to holistic solutions tailored to individual customer requirements,” describes Andy Schumacher, Operations Manager of the Hamburg workshop.
