16. July 2024 um 18:21After further growth of the digital freight forwarding in spring, the company Cargoboard has handled over 30,000 shipments for its clients in recent months. This development step occurred almost simultaneously with the completion of the one-millionth transport order – a milestone for the young company, which was founded five years ago as a corporate start-up in Paderborn.
(Paderborn) For the current fiscal year, the company Cargoboard, which is part of the logistics start-up cosmos of Cargo Digital World (CDW), aims for a revenue of 55 million euros.
The founders Lukas Petrasch and David Port work together with nearly 70 employees from the headquarters in Paderborn. A few days before the 5th anniversary of the company, which has nearly outgrown its start-up status, the Cargoboard team successfully completed shipment number 1,000,000 since its inception. Shortly thereafter, the digital freight forwarder broke the sound barrier of an average of 30,000 completed transports per month.
“In a challenging time for the freight forwarding industry, we are managing to continue advancing our company development despite the economic situation. The milestones recently achieved are a testament to this,” summarizes Lukas Petrasch, founder and CEO of Cargoboard, the company’s course. “Our top team, as well as the innovative digital business model and its customer-centric implementation, are among the success factors since our founding.”

Cargoboard, supported by renowned partners from the CargoLine groupage cooperation, focuses its strategy on an ideal connection between the digital and physical logistics world. “Through digital access to the high-quality cargo space of CargoLine, ensuring a high-quality user experience, and providing individual customer service, we meet the expectations of our clients,” emphasizes Lukas Petrasch. Especially for young and innovative companies in the e-commerce sector that are looking for support in logistics, Cargoboard offers a suitable solution.
Dr. Tim Brühn, board member of the company builder CDW, categorizes the start-up success story as follows: “The remarkable development of Cargoboard shows that we are pursuing the right approach by combining tech start-up spirit with the use of excellent logistics capacities from traditional brands. We also bring this expertise into a powerful product palette for our partners and clients in the already completed and future planned CDW spin-offs.”
The further internationalization of the freight forwarding and the expansion of the national subsidiaries, focusing on the markets of Spain and Austria, represent the next growth targets. In the medium term, Cargoboard aims for a revenue of 100 million euros per year.
