31. August 2024project44, the leading platform for supply chain visibility, has launched the High-Velocity Supply Chain Platform for emissions monitoring. The new feature, ‘Emissions Monitoring’, provides shippers, carriers, and LSPs with insights into their Scope 3 emissions. Certified calculations according to the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) standard allow them to track the emissions of their shipments across all modes of transport. Thus, the new feature empowers companies to effectively manage their CO₂ footprint.
(Munich) The new sustainability solution is integrated into project44’s Movement platform. Users optimize their compliance through data transparency. Accurate historical emissions data at the mode, shipment, carrier, and route level highlight companies’ environmental impact. Users can demonstrate positive results in ESG reports, fulfill their sustainability commitments, and thereby increase customer satisfaction.
“We are seeing increasing pressure on our customers to operate more sustainably. However, they often lack the tools to reduce CO₂ emissions in their supply chains,” says Jett McCandless, founder and CEO of project44. “Since our inception, we have been committed to developing sustainable supply chains. Emissions monitoring marks a new era of sustainability in the supply chain. By providing the most accurate emissions measurement across all modes, the platform enables our customers to comply with regulations and achieve their sustainability goals.”
The Emissions Monitoring enables:
- Access to emissions-related calculations across key transport modes via the Movement platform as well as through API requests.
- Detailed breakdown of emissions data for each leg of multimodal shipments.
- Creation and sharing of customized reports with key sustainability metrics, including total emissions, emissions intensity, distance traveled, and more.
- Access to a mode-independent emissions dashboard. This also displays current events in global supply chains and allows for detailed analysis by mode, carrier, and region.
“At VEYER, we believe that sustainability plays a crucial role in our success. We are committed to achieving the zero-waste goal in 30 percent of our distribution centers by 2025 and reducing our Scope 3 emissions by 55 percent by 2030. Our long-standing partnership with project44 is essential for optimizing our operations and focusing on these larger initiatives,” says Shannon Hunter, VP of Sustainability at VEYER. “It is very important for us to work with companies that share our focus on sustainability. Therefore, we are excited about this latest innovation from project44 that will help reduce emissions in the global supply chain.”
“Achieving visibility of emissions in the supply chain is a critical aspect of promoting environmental responsibility and sustainability,” said Kevin Diestel, partner at Generation Investment Management. “One of the many reasons we invest in project44 is their commitment to bringing concrete measurements and climate accountability into logistics. With emissions monitoring, project44 continues its mission and enables companies to easily identify and address the main contributors to their CO₂ footprint across various modes. This leads to more efficient operations and better compliance with increasing regulatory requirements.”
