The Trend Towards Electric Refrigeration Units is Gaining Momentum
3. September 2024The Swedish company Stena AB, which operates in the fields of ferry shipping, offshore drilling, shipping, real estate, finance, and new business, has acquired an additional 25 percent of the shares in the transport and logistics company NTEX. Having already owned 75 percent of the shares, Stena AB is now the sole owner of the company.
(Gothenburg/Lübeck) NTEX is one of the most expansive transport companies in Sweden, with 20 branches in 12 European countries, over 1,000 employees, and a revenue of around 4 billion SEK (approximately 350 million euros). The company owns and leases around 1,500 trucks and has 16 of its own terminals and warehouses.
“NTEX is a fantastic company that is established in the transport and logistics sector and can offer complete solutions to its customers,” says Niclas Mårtensson, CEO of Stena Line and chairman of the board of NTEX. Stena AB became the majority owner of NTEX in 2020 and is now the sole owner of the company.
“The main reason for this acquisition is that we want to gain a better understanding of how large transport companies operate in different markets. By owning and managing companies, we better understand our customers and know in which direction the market is developing. This, in turn, allows us to further optimize Stena’s product portfolio,” says Niclas Mårtensson.
Incredible group of people
“Of course, I sell the remaining part of what I started and built with mixed feelings. I want to express my deep gratitude to all employees. I had the honor of hiring and working with an incredible group of people. Their efforts have been and are crucial to our success,” says Thomas Ström, founder and CEO of NTEX. The acquisition is subject to approval by the relevant authorities.
