DHL Parcel Increases Prices for Business Customers
12. October 2024GREIWING logistics for you GmbH has successfully completed the expansion of its location in Worms. The family-owned company now has two additional logistics halls in the northern industrial area. The investment amounts to around 20 million euros for an expansion of 7,150 square meters. With this project, the logistics service provider increases the number of pallet spaces from 8,000 to 19,800.
(Greven/Worms) Sustainability is also at the forefront of GREIWING’s focus in this major project: The majority of the electricity demand is covered by a photovoltaic system. With the commissioning of the halls, 63 employees are working for the logistics service provider at the Worms location.
“The expansion of the location is also an investment in the future. With our entire corporate group, we pursue ambitious goals: We grow in the interest of our customers and want to offer them even higher capacities and more options through the continuous development of our logistics services,” says Jürgen Greiwing, Managing Partner of GREIWING logistics for you GmbH.
Adjacent to the existing branch, two new logistics halls have been built on areas of 4,000 and 3,150 square meters, respectively. These provide space for an additional 11,800 pallet spaces and are designed for products up to water hazard class (WGK) 3. Additionally, three filling silos with a capacity of 120 cubic meters each and a 32-meter high filling tower are located on the premises. Three new silage halls enable the transfer of material from bags and big bags into silo trailers.
The expansion was necessary to adapt the capacities of the logistics provider to the continuously growing demand in recent years. The service portfolio includes not only the storage and processing of plastic granulates but also value-added services for food products – among other things, under clean room conditions.
Sustainability Becomes the Norm
In terms of sustainability, GREIWING also exceeds legal requirements with the project in Worms. “Sustainability is an integral part of our planning for every new construction. We implement higher standards, especially in energy management,” explains Greiwing. The GOLDBECK Nord GmbH, as the general contractor for the new halls, has installed only energy-saving LEDs and a photovoltaic system. A heat pump provides heating for the offices.
