BVL Supply Chain CX: White Sneakers Replace Ties
Oct 26, 2024 at 6:59 PMAcito Logistics GmbH celebrates its 10th company anniversary and looks back on an impressive development from a founding idea to a leading logistics company in the tri-border area. With over 100 employees and modern logistics solutions, Acito has firmly established itself in the region and offers tailored services for the challenges of today’s logistics world.
(Weil am Rhein) The founding of Acito Logistics GmbH in 2014 was the result of a clear vision: to create a logistics company that impresses with flexibility and customer-oriented solutions. The name “Acito” stands for speed and efficiency. It is derived from the Latin term “cito,” which means “quickly.” The founders chose this name to emphasize the importance of speed in logistics. At the same time, an “A” was added to underline the commitment to the highest quality and premium service for customers. The company logo, which features stylized wings, also symbolizes speed and overcoming boundaries.
Rooted in the Tri-Border Area
What began with a group of 27 employees has rapidly developed into one of the most significant logistics companies in the tri-border area, thanks to a clear focus on quality and efficiency. In the early years, Acito was able to win leading companies as partners with innovative transport solutions and cross-border services. The strategic decision to focus on the region of Germany, France, and Switzerland allowed the company to invest specifically in this important European logistics hub.
Revitalization of a Vacant Industrial Hall
A milestone in the company’s history was the decision in 2017/2018 to revitalize a vacant industrial hall instead of opting for new construction. This brownfield development underscores Acito’s commitment to sustainability. The former old industrial hall in Efringen-Kirchen, also known as the Tübbinghalle, was converted into a modern logistics facility and expanded in 2022 with an energy-efficient extension.
“We are proud that with these measures, we not only save resources but also demonstrate how sustainability and economic success can go hand in hand,” says Francesco Grieco, Managing Director of Acito Logistics. “By preserving existing structures and implementing energy-efficient renovations, we create future-proof logistics facilities that meet the demands of today and tomorrow.”
In-House Academy for Employee and Customer Training
In the coming year, the logistics company will expand its service portfolio in the area of customs services. Starting in mid-2025, Acito will offer additional services, such as AI-based tariff classification and customs warehousing options, with its own office in the customs park. This expansion is a central part of the company’s growth strategy and strengthens Acito’s position as a reliable partner in cross-border goods traffic.
Additionally, in 2023, the Acito Academy was established to further educate employees and advise and qualify customers on logistics issues. The Academy shows that Acito not only acts as a service provider but also as a pioneer in the training and further education of its industry. The targeted investment in the training of its own young talent represents another important pillar for the company’s success. This year, 18 trainees will also be supported and trained in various areas of the company.
Employee-Oriented Solutions
The ongoing success of Acito Logistics is largely based on the commitment and expertise of the team. “Our employees are the engine of our company,” emphasizes Managing Director Patric Galley. “Without their dedication and innovative spirit, our growth would not have been possible.” To best support the team, Acito offers its employees numerous benefits. A flexible working time model enables a balanced work-life balance, while partnerships like the one with Josko Fitness and a corporate health management program promote employee well-being. Acito also demonstrates its commitment to modern and employee-oriented solutions through offerings like Jobrad. These initiatives not only strengthen the team but also make Acito a particularly attractive employer in the region.
Clear Goals for the Coming Years
For the coming years, Acito has set clear goals. The company plans to further expand its logistics and service offerings while focusing on digitalization and automation. Regional presence will also be further strengthened. With innovative solutions, Acito aims to continue acting as a strong partner in the tri-border area while always addressing quality, sustainability, and customer needs.
“We reflect on what we have achieved in the last ten years and look to the future with confidence. Our vision is to continue to act as an innovator in the regional logistics industry and provide our customers with the best solutions,” says Ralf Albrecht, Managing Director of Acito Logistics GmbH.
