29. October 2024The premiere of the BVL Supply Chain CX was a success. The move within Berlin from the venerable Intercontinental Hotel to the Estrel Convention Center and the replacement of the equally venerable German Logistics Congress by the BVL Supply Chain CX was well received by 140 exhibitors and around 2,600 participants. The newly chosen event location allows for a lot of flexibility for a modern occasion. The BVL has successfully taken a step into the future of event design.
(Bremen/Berlin) “White sneakers replace ties”. This is meant symbolically, both for the change in business events in general and for the BVL’s lead event in particular. The venerable German Logistics Congress had already transformed in recent years, moving from (partly) tuxedos with bow ties and long evening gowns, via dark suits with ties, to casual, modern business attire. But the external framework, the Intercontinental Hotel, had remained. And so, white sneakers now also dominate at the BVL, symbolizing a new appearance.
Modern, Bright Event Center
The choice of the Estrel Convention Center may seem surprising at first glance. Located on the notorious Sonnenallee, somewhere between “Orient” and JWD (Berlin slang for somewhat off the beaten path), this mix of “panel building” and “glass palace” is visually unusual, but also extraordinary.

But once you pass through the entrance door, you step into a new, modern, and light-filled world. Everything is spacious, bright, and friendly. Modern elegance without ostentation. The latest technology is, of course, included. Various rooms in size and design give the organizer the opportunity to offer different occasions, exhibitions, and events under one roof. The BVL has implemented this excellently. Experienced logisticians and young talents felt equally comfortable at the Estrel.
High Standards Maintained
One thing has remained from the German Logistics Congress: the quality. This applies equally to exhibitors, speakers, and participants. There were lectures and forums for all logistics and supply chain needs. The accompanying exhibition was broadly represented, from start-ups in the Logtech sector to the market leaders in the industry. Networking provided opportunities to meet like-minded individuals everywhere, and the evening’s supporting program ensured the necessary fun and a lively atmosphere. Young and old celebrated side by side together.
