PTV Logistics Releases Update for Map&Guide
Oct 26, 2024 at 5:25 PMFor the fifth consecutive time, the initiative “Logistics in Motion” has motivated logistics-affine companies across Germany to raise money for a good cause through sports activities. With success! In total, the logisticians covered over 160,000 kilometers from July 1 to September 30, 2024. By running, cycling, hiking, or horseback riding, they raised a donation amount of 70,000 euros. As in previous years, all proceeds benefit the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation.
(Munich/Berlin) For the first time, the check presentation took place together with all participating companies at the Supply Chain CX. Kuno Neumeier, who as CEO of Logivest initiated the initiative in 2020, handed over the check on behalf of everyone to Karin Neumeier, board member of the Nicolaidis YoungWings Foundation, together with Sven Eisfeld, CEO Germany of Hellmann Logistics and a partner from the very beginning. As an ambassador of the foundation, former ski racer Thomas Dreßen was also present and shared his own experiences with grief work in a conversation with Sky moderator Michael Leopold.
The foundation supports young people up to the age of 49 nationwide after the death of their life partner, as well as children, teenagers, and young adults mourning the loss of a parent or both parents. Karin Neumeier expressed her “deep admiration for how the logistics industry, despite the current – not easy for many – situation, is once again committed to us and the bereaved this year. On behalf of the entire foundation, I would like to sincerely thank everyone involved!”
Important in economically challenging times
“Especially in these economically challenging times, it is important not to lose sight of what matters. I am very proud that our industry is once again showing such great commitment and supporting the foundation this year through its generous willingness to donate,” said Kuno Neumeier.
As part of “Logistics in Motion“, employees from logistics-related companies across Germany recorded the distances they covered while exercising. Whether running, cycling, swimming, or skating – every kilometer counted. The participating companies could flexibly decide at the beginning how much they wanted to reward the kilometers achieved by their employees. The engagement was documented with photos from the pedometer or fitness app, and participants motivated each other through the hashtag #LogisticsInMotion on social media channels.
