Austrian Post Reports Strong Results After Three Quarters
5. November 2024Webfleet, the proven fleet management solution from Bridgestone, is expanding its OEM.connect partner program for trailers. The first trailer manufacturer to join the OEM.connect program is Schmitz Cargobull, the leading manufacturer of semi-trailers for temperature-controlled freight, general cargo, and bulk goods in Europe.
(Amsterdam/Leipzig) Schmitz Cargobull trailers can now be easily connected to Webfleet using the factory-installed telematics, without the need for additional hardware installations. Fleet operators gain access to meaningful data that optimizes trailer utilization, reduces downtime, and enhances overall safety and efficiency.
“Trailers are the backbone of freight transport, but managing a trailer fleet can be a challenge,” says Taco van der Leij, Vice President Webfleet Europe at Bridgestone Mobility Solutions. “By providing easy access to our proven Webfleet trailer solution via OEM data, we can help even more companies maximize their trailer performance with real-time data insights and actionable information. We are excited to collaborate with Schmitz Cargobull, offering our customers seamless integration with Europe’s leading trailer manufacturer.”
Easy connection between platforms
Commercial fleet operators can easily connect their trailers to the Webfleet platform using the Schmitz Cargobull TrailerConnect® telematics portal with their VIN (Vehicle Identification Number). By utilizing the factory-installed telematics, no additional hardware needs to be installed, saving costs and time. Customers receive the full range of advanced Webfleet features, from monitoring tour details, positions, maintenance and safety management, to payload, tire pressure (TPMS), and temperature data.
Sören Danielsen, Manager Strategy & Business Development at Schmitz Cargobull adds: “With the TrailerConnect® Data Management Center from Schmitz Cargobull, carriers maintain full control over their data and can selectively and efficiently share data with third parties. Through the intelligent linking of vehicle, tour, and order information, more than just position and temperature data can be selected, processed, and transmitted to third-party systems at the push of a button. The TrailerConnect® Data Management Center stands for connectivity and transparency, benefiting all parties along the supply chain.”
Available in Europe immediately
The collaboration between Webfleet and Schmitz Cargobull was sealed at the IAA TRANSPORTATION 2024 in Hanover. The integrated solution is now available for European Webfleet customers. Webfleet plans to expand the program to trailers from other manufacturers in the near future.
