Nov 5, 2024 at 6:33 PMSWAN GmbH, a project house for SAP logistics, has integrated the SWAN AutoStore Warehouse Integration with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (SAP EWM). This full technical integration offers companies maximum efficiency and flexibility in managing their warehouse processes. The cloud solution can be obtained through the SAP Store.
(Augsburg) As a modern warehouse and order picking system, AutoStore utilizes a modular aluminum structure (Grid) on which robots can move and store containers. The space-saving design optimally utilizes the available storage area and enables faster picking processes. With the AutoStore Warehouse Integration, all operations in the AutoStore system are now mapped and controlled from SAP EWM. The technical integration without middleware creates a close link between both systems, as the processing of detailed data occurs solely within the SAP system. The fully upgradeable product, the SWAN AutoStore Warehouse Integration, has already been implemented by SWAN as an on-premise variant and is now available as a cloud solution in the SAP Store.
Warehouse Integration in Detail
The SWAN AutoStore Warehouse Integration enables the technical connection of an AutoStore system to SAP EWM. At the same time, it provides tools for customization and expansion options to integrate it into the existing process landscape. The solution also includes FIORI UI5 workplace and management/control dialogues. These pre-made dialogues make the system user-friendly and allow tasks such as picking, storage, inspection, and inventory management to be handled from the familiar interface. SWAN has also created options for individual adjustments to the customer system to complement customer-specific SAP ABAP coding without affecting the overall system’s upgradeability.
Sleeker and More Efficient Connection
The integration of AutoStore into SAP EWM offers users a sleeker and more efficient connection between the AutoStore system and their warehouse management processes, without additional costs for middleware. By allowing AutoStore to communicate directly with SAP EWM, the data of both systems are orchestrated with each other, and inventories are managed at a central location. The modern and user-friendly UI5 interface enables users to operate intuitively in the familiar design. The unified interface also creates a deep process integration, providing companies with complete transparency and control over all warehouse operations. This offers companies further advantages: updates can be carried out more easily, administrative costs are reduced, and they can continue to benefit from the technological developments of SAP and AutoStore.
“With the AutoStore Warehouse Integration, we make AutoStore an even more powerful solution for modern logistics processes. Our solutions support our customers in increasing their productivity and making inventory management more efficient. To ensure our customers stay at the forefront, our new developments are based on solutions from the SAP Business Technology Platform, are fully upgradeable, and thus represent a long-term investment in the future,” says Kai Starke, Director Realization and Authorized Signatory at SWAN GmbH.
SWAN’s commitment to its customers does not end with the provision of the solution. SWAN also advises and supports them in implementing it into their existing system landscape and implements customer-specific requirements. After project completion, the SWAN Customer Lifecycle Team continues to support customers.
