9. January 2025The 40th anniversary of Element Logic is the perfect opportunity to celebrate a remarkable journey that began in 1985. From humble beginnings in Norway, two visionary brothers – Kjell and Dag-Adler Blakseth – shared the dream of optimizing warehouse performance and making businesses more efficient. This shared vision laid the foundation for a global success story.
(Bergen/Bad Friedrichshall) As a small Norwegian company, the Blakseth brothers began improving workflows in warehouses with innovative yet simple solutions, such as software that was based on a stopwatch and manually counted the steps of warehouse workers. Their approach was bold yet characterized by practical efficiency – a trait that still lies at the core of Element Logic today.
In 2003, a new chapter began for Element Logic when Kjell Blakseth met Ingvar Hognaland, the inventor of AutoStore, at a trade fair. Dag-Adler Blakseth, known for his strategic understanding and entrepreneurial spirit, played a crucial role in the decision to adopt the “crazy robot idea” of AutoStore. Within six months, the brothers advanced the development of the world’s first AutoStore system and established a partnership that would revolutionize the industry and shape the path of Element Logic.
Expansion and Global Reach
Under the leadership of Dag-Adler and Kjell, Element Logic grew rapidly, initially becoming a market leader in the Nordic countries and then expanding throughout Europe. In 2015, the company completed its first AutoStore project outside the region, and by 2020, it held the full European distribution rights. The vision guided the company even during this period of remarkable growth, including corporate acquisitions that opened doors to new markets in North, Central, and South America, and most recently in the Asia-Pacific region.
Dag-Adler Blakseth, co-founder of Element Logic and chairman of the board: “When we founded Element Logic 40 years ago, our vision was simple: to optimize warehouse performance through innovation and efficiency. Today, I am proud to see how our bold ideas, combined with dedicated employees and reliable solutions, have created a global success story – and we are just getting started.”
By 2025, Element Logic has developed into one of the largest system integrators worldwide, serving customers on all continents. Despite our technological success, the legacy of the Blakseth brothers, putting people first, remains a central part of our identity. The focus on fostering an open, respectful, and humble workplace culture has become a cornerstone of our company profile.
