German Shipowners’ Association Holds Annual Press Conference
Mar 14, 2025 at 7:00 PMSPEDLOGSWISS, the association of Swiss forwarding and logistics companies, and the association swiss export have entered into a newly established cooperation since the beginning of March 2025. Overlapping interests and expertise between the two associations can be found in the areas of customs, law, insurance, and foreign trade.
(Basel/Zürich) Both associations maintain corresponding specialist committees with experts from their member organizations. In these committees, topics are addressed that are of mutual interest but are viewed from different perspectives. Once from the perspective of the forwarding industry and once from the perspective of the shipping economy. Thus, there are concrete points of connection for a trust-building cooperation.
A second area is the offering of further education on these topics. Both associations have a wide-ranging further education program. Points of connection for cooperation can be found, on the one hand, in a targeted mutual promotion of educational offerings, provided it is beneficial for both and does not lead to competition. On the other hand, there is also the possibility that further education programs will be developed together.
Diverse Agreements
Wherever it is sensible and possible, experts from one association will participate in specialist committees of the other association. The areas of customs, value-added tax, and foreign trade will be particularly suitable for this.
Furthermore, many topics that affect the forwarding and foreign trade industry have a very direct connection to Swiss politics at the state level. If there are overlapping interests in feeding topics and concerns into the policy process, these can also be presented together in Bern in the sense of a “common voice.”
