May 15, 2025 at 3:52 PMThe Austrian Post AG has developed an update to its corporate strategy through a comprehensive strategic process. The vision: By 2030, Austrian Post aims to be one of the leading logistics and service groups in Austria, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Turkey and beyond – with over 150 million satisfied customers and a revenue of four billion euros.
(Wien) Walter Oblin, General Director, Austrian Post AG: “Austrian Post is a modern, internationally successful company and should remain so in the future. Therefore, we want to expand the Post platform in Austria with additional services, grow even stronger in the parcel business as an international group, and leverage synergy potentials across all areas and regions as an integrated group. With this strategy, we aim to grow profitably towards four billion euros in revenue by 2030, be a pioneer in sustainability, and an attractive employer for our approximately 30,000 dedicated employees both nationally and internationally.”
Revised Corporate Strategy Based on Three Pillars:
- More than Post in Austria: The Post remains the market leader in the letter and parcel business with top delivery. In addition, it offers an attractive platform for important additional services such as banking with its own bank99 through post offices, post partners, and digital channels. The telecommunications offering will also be further expanded.
- Internationally Strong in the Parcel Business: The Post is a strong player internationally and aims to continue growing here. It will further invest in existing markets and open up additional ones. With subsidiaries in Southeast and Eastern Europe as well as Turkey and beyond, it serves over 150 million satisfied customers with high-quality parcel delivery.
- A Corporate Group – Operationally Excellent: With around 30,000 employees at home and abroad, the Post aims to strengthen collaboration as a group and leverage synergies – locally entrepreneurial and internationally connected. It continuously develops its processes with the aim of operational excellence and works on efficiency improvements through automation, digitization, robotics, and artificial intelligence (AI).
Sustainability, customer orientation, and corporate culture form central strategic guidelines across the entire corporate group.
Post Plans Own Mobile Phone Offering
A first concrete measure of the revised corporate strategy is the planned expansion of the telecommunications offering: Austrian Post and A1 look back on successful years of a joint sales cooperation. In the future, the Post will set new priorities and offer its customers its own telecommunications rates as a virtual mobile provider. The existing sales agreement between the Post and A1 will expire at the end of 2025, and in the second quarter of 2026, the Post will appear as a virtual mobile provider with its own brand on the A1 network.
