Jun 15, 2025 at 10:19 AMThe Anker Shipping Company Ltd., a subsidiary of the Leschaco Group, and UPM-Kymmene Corporation have announced the extension of their decades-long partnership for terminal operations in Emden. The newly signed agreement secures services until December 31, 2027, with an option for an additional three years.
(Emden) The partnership between Anker Shipping and UPM-Kymmene has existed for over 30 years and is one of the longest uninterrupted service contracts within the UPM Corporation worldwide. At a recent ceremonial signing in Bremen, attended by representatives from UPM, Anker Shipping, and the owning Leschaco family, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to this trusting collaboration.
As part of the extended agreement, Anker Shipping will continue to handle pulp and other forest products at the Emden terminal and ensure smooth transshipment and onward transport via inland vessels, rail, trucks, or containers. This long-term collaboration has not only contributed to the stability and growth of Anker Shipping in Emden but has also supported UPM’s reliable and sustainable supply chains.
Constantin Conrad, Managing Director of Anker Shipping and CEO of the Leschaco Group, stated: “This contract extension underscores the trust and mutual respect that have characterized our partnership with UPM for over three decades.
