Mercedes-Benz Trucks Protects Slow Traffic
Jun 21, 2025 at 3:20 PMThe mobility service provider UTA Edenred has expanded its 360° electromobility offering UTA eCharge® to electric trucks and van fleets. Until now, UTA customers in the passenger car segment have benefited from the comprehensive charging solution for public charging, charging on company premises, and at the residences of company car drivers.
(Kleinostheim) The full-service offering from UTA Edenred is now also available to companies in Germany with electrically operated heavy commercial vehicles.
In the area of public charging, UTA customers for their heavy commercial vehicles have access to around 300 truck-compatible charging stations in Europe, including the stations of the Milence fast charging network.
UTA Edenred’s public truck charging network is already being used by Daimler Truck. Electric trucks from Mercedes-Benz Trucks have access to the charging stations with UTA acceptance in Europe using the Mercedes ServiceCard charging card.
Charging with Company-Owned Infrastructure
Charging infrastructure on the company’s own premises is often the most effective form of fleet electrification in many scenarios. With UTA eCharge, transport and logistics companies have the opportunity to charge their vehicles overnight or during loading/standing times (“Depot Charging”) – depending on requirements and available charging capacity.
UTA Edenred’s service offering for depot charging ranges from detailed needs analysis, planning and realization of suitable AC or DC charging infrastructure, technical operation and training, to charging management and processing of charging transactions. Furthermore, the solution allows companies to monetize their charging infrastructure by making it available for paid use by third parties (“Semi-Public Charging”).
Charging on the Company Parking Lot for Third Parties
With UTA eCharge, companies can also enable their employees and customers to charge electric vehicles on the company parking lot (“Workplace Charging”). If electric company vehicles need to be charged at employees’ residences, suitable wall boxes and the necessary processing and reimbursement solution through UTA Edenred are also available.
UTA Edenred has extensive experience in infrastructure project management and collaborates with competent specialist partners to provide customers with optimal expertise in equipping them with charging technology. Current installation partners include the charging infrastructure project developers GP JOULE CONNECT and the VSB Group, with more to come.
For processing charging transactions and charging management for home, workplace, and depot charging, the software platform from Spirii is used. The international provider of charging and “Software-as-a-Service” solutions is another partner of UTA Edenred in UTA eCharge and is under majority ownership of the Edenred Group.
A Reliable Partner for All Customer Groups
“It is our goal to enable our customers with vehicles of all classes to charge in a large public network, on company premises, and also at the residences of company car drivers with the UTA eCharge charging solution,” says Pierre Jalady, General Manager Edenred Mobility EMEA and CEO of UTA Edenred. “After the launch of UTA eCharge as a 360° solution for the passenger car segment, we now also offer a comprehensive solution for the electrification of heavy commercial vehicles. Thus, we are available as a reliable partner for all customer groups in the electric transformation.”
