KTV Takes Over Logistics Services for Isover
3. July 2025With the start of operations on July 1, the new inland terminal of BLG LOGISTICS in Ahlhorn has officially commenced work. An important milestone for the expansion of logistics infrastructure in northern Germany. The first customer is already active. At the same time, targeted personnel development begins: BLG LOGISTICS is looking for dedicated employees from the region who want to actively shape the new location.
(Bremen/Ahlhorn) At the start, 20 employees are working at the new location – a combination of internal experience and new colleagues from the region. The employees are supported by an experienced project team that has been driving the establishment of the site for months. An expansion to around 200 employees is planned by the end of 2026.
“A new location is being created in Ahlhorn with space for around 16,000 vehicles – including technical services. This is not just more space – it is a commitment to the future of the AUTOMOBILE segment,” emphasizes Axel Krichel, member of the board and COO of the BLG Group. “We see a growing demand from automobile manufacturers for integrated logistics, technical services, and a proven distribution network – areas where we are already well positioned. In Ahlhorn, we are strategically expanding our strengths.”

35 Hectares of Extensive Development Opportunities
The new inland terminal in Ahlhorn offers extensive development opportunities on around 35 hectares. The site in the Metropolpark Hansalinie – on the area of the former airbase – has been leased long-term for this purpose. At the start of operations, 2,500 parking spaces are available. In the medium term, an expansion to up to 16,000 parking spaces is planned. The planning of a technology center has also begun, which will set additional service impulses and strengthen the site technologically in the future.
Sustainability is a central component of the site strategy: The use of green electricity, a photovoltaic system on the roof of the hall, and modern heat pump technology are in planning. Already now, low-emission transport solutions can be offered via rail. In addition, an expansion of the rail infrastructure is planned.
“We are pleased about the successful start of operations and the trust of the first customer. The demand already shows the potential of this location. We have a lot ahead of us – not only in infrastructure expansion and team building but also in expanding our service offerings for existing and new customers,” says Thomas Menke, branch manager of the inland terminal Ahlhorn.
At the Intersection of the North-South Axis
The new terminal is conveniently located – only about three kilometers from the A1 and A29 highways – at the intersection of the European North-South axis. The proximity to the northern German and Dutch seaports makes Ahlhorn a central logistics location for national and international goods flows.
With the terminal in Ahlhorn, BLG LOGISTICS is expanding its existing network by another efficient hub. The complete expansion of the site is expected to be completed in 2026. As the sixth inland terminal of BLG, Ahlhorn makes an important contribution to the strategic further development of the logistics company – while also creating attractive jobs and new perspectives in the region.
