HGK and Salzgitter christen dry cargo ship “Blue Marlin”
4. July 2025The Rhineland logistics service provider RheinCargo (RC) and STRABAG AG have agreed on a long-term collaboration: RC will take over the crane handling at the newly opened value stream management site of STRABAG AG in the Neuss port.
(Neuss) STRABAG AG is making a strong statement for sustainable construction and a resource-saving circular economy: In the presence of Neuss Mayor Reiner Breuer, the site for value stream management was inaugurated at harbor basin 4 on the area rented by RheinCargo (approx. 13,000 m²). The concept is based on the analysis of mineral value streams to produce high-quality mineral substitute building materials and thus feed recycling material back into the material cycle.
Up to 250,000 tons of mineral construction and raw materials can be processed annually at the facility. The short transport routes in the densely populated region around Neuss, which has high construction activity, relieve the infrastructure. The material can be delivered and transported by inland ship, train, and truck.
Message for the Circular Economy
“We are very pleased to be able to support STRABAG AG in this sustainable project. As a logistics company that focuses on flexible and efficient solutions, we see this long-term partnership as a great message for the circular economy,” explains Lukas Klippel, head of the RC business unit port.
