Logistics Reply Optimizes E-Commerce Activities of KIKO Milano
8. July 2025The Torwegge GmbH & Co. KG presents the Zeus rail, an in-house transport solution for load carriers with various support surfaces. With a small roller spacing and high load capacity, the multi-transfer rail enables the safe transport of load carriers even with narrow or unfavorable contact surfaces – including mesh boxes, pallets, Just-in-Time (JIT) or Just-in-Sequence (JIS) racks.
(Bielefeld) The staggered arrangement and close spacing of the ball bearings ensure smooth movement. The versatile rail is used in conveyor systems, warehousing technology, and mechanical engineering.
“Powerful, flexible, and reliable solutions for demanding material flows characterize our range. The Zeus rail combines strength and precision by safely and gently moving heavy loads and even load carriers with small support surfaces,” says Thomas Otto, Managing Director of TORWEGGE GmbH & Co. KG. The rail was specifically developed to meet the requirements of modern logistics systems. “Our customers appreciate the Zeus rail, and it is already in use at a well-known automotive supplier,” adds Otto.
Central features of the Zeus rail include the arrangement and spacing of the robust rollers made of galvanized steel: Three staggered 6002-ZZ C3 ball bearings with a spacing of only 26 millimeters provide maximum stability and a smooth, even run even for minimal support surfaces and uneven grounds. The ball bearing system is maintenance-free and durable. “The arrangement of the rollers resembles the shape of a ‘Z’ or a lightning bolt. This visual motif gives the rail its name: it is named after the god of lightning, symbolizing strength and precision,” says Otto.
With a load capacity of 200 kilograms per axle or 1,000 kilograms per meter, the Zeus rail is ideal for use in conveyor systems, warehousing technology, mechanical engineering, and assembly stations. It proves particularly effective in First-In-First-Out (FIFO) systems, as it allows for an automatic replenishment of load carriers through a gravity-supported flow of goods as soon as a withdrawal occurs. Goods arrive at the workplace in the correct order, facilitating error-free retrieval of the first stored items. The continuous supply allows for the spatial separation of storage and retrieval, leading to more efficient processes in picking or assembly. Additionally, the rail improves ergonomics at the workplace, as loads can be moved in a back- and joint-friendly manner.
Slipping and Tipping are Prevented
The integrated side guidance ensures that transport goods run in a controlled and track-true manner, preventing unintentional slipping or tipping. By connecting multiple rails, the transport route can be flexibly extended and adapted to individual storage conditions. This way, for example, different workstations can be connected, reducing travel distances and handling, thereby increasing the efficiency of in-house material flow.
