(Lauterach) Gebrüder Weiss is deploying a fully electric truck for the first time as the official logistics partner of the Tour of Austria. The Mercedes eActros 600 is part of a new fleet of electric trucks with which the company is gradually decarbonizing its transport operations in Austria. “The Tour is a stage for athletic excellence – and for innovative logistics. The use of the electric truck is a concrete contribution to the climate-friendly future of our industry,” says Klaus Bannwarth, branch manager in Wels at Gebrüder Weiss. Additionally, the company is using four trucks powered by the alternative fuel HVO 100 in the tour logistics, which emits up to 90 percent less CO₂ than diesel.
