Jul 18, 2025 at 6:58 PMWalden Group (“Walden”), a leading European logistics service provider operating in temperature-controlled logistics and last-mile delivery solutions for the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as express delivery, announced today that it has completed exclusive negotiations regarding the potential sale of its healthcare activities (“Walden Health”) to Yusen Logistics Group.
(Paris/Amsterdam) The Japan-based global logistics company Yusen Logistics Group is wholly owned by NYK Line, the largest Japanese shipping company.
Based on a leading position in Europe, the potential transaction would enable Walden Health, along with companies Movianto, Transharma International, and Eurotranspharma, to accelerate its growth, expand its international reach, and enhance its service by leveraging the global network and integrated logistics capabilities of Yusen Logistics Group.
A Shared Vision for Healthcare Logistics
Walden was founded in 1951 and has since been a leader in developing the pharmaceutical and healthcare market: with a high-quality offering and a wide range of value-added services tailored to customer needs. Walden has grown from a French to a European company through a successful combination of organic growth and acquisitions, particularly through the acquisition of Movianto from Owens & Minor in 2020.
Well Positioned for Growth Phase
As the healthcare logistics market becomes increasingly global, the planned transaction would ensure that Walden Health is best positioned for its next growth phase.
This includes:
- Expanding presence beyond Europe
- Utilizing the global infrastructure and digital capabilities of Yusen Logistics Group to enhance service quality and strength
- Continuous investments in sustainable, GDP-compliant, and temperature-controlled logistics solutions
“Today’s announcement is an important step on our journey to becoming a leading player in healthcare logistics, and we look forward to welcoming Walden Health to our group. In recent years, we have expanded healthcare logistics by enhancing our global capabilities to offer various logistics services to our customers. We believe that the combination of Walden Health’s high professionalism with our long-standing reputation and global network can make our healthcare logistics service unique,” said Hiroki Harada, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Yusen Logistics Group.
“We are proud that Walden has become a trusted partner in healthcare logistics across Europe,” said Stephane Baudry, Chairman of the Walden Group and grandson of Marcel Baudry, the founder of Walden, which was formerly known as CSP. “Thanks to Yusen Logistics Group, Walden Health will evolve into a true global player, capable of offering end-to-end services to its customers and building on a strong innovative DNA focused on improving patient care with an unwavering commitment to quality. I am excited to see the strong cultural and strategic alignment of both companies and truly believe that Walden Health is set for sustained success alongside Yusen.”
Cibex and Relais Colis Remain with Walden
While the healthcare division with companies Movianto, Transharma International, and Eurotranspharma aims to embark on this new journey, the Walden Group will continue to invest in its Mobility business, including Ciblex and Relais Colis, where exciting opportunities in express transport and last-mile delivery lie.
