Mansio aims for 44 tons total weight in encounter traffic
23. September 2025The Transco Group is building a new logistics center on the outskirts of Singen am Hohentwiel (Baden-Württemberg) near the Swiss border, set to be completed by the end of 2026. The project will cover 52,000 m² of land, featuring 22,000 m² of warehouse space, a modern high-bay warehouse, an automated small parts warehouse, and a hazardous materials storage facility. The groundbreaking took place on September 19. With an investment of around 40 million euros, Transco is significantly expanding its capacities and positioning itself as a central partner for complex supply chains in international freight transport.
(Singen) The new construction is a strategic response to trends such as e-commerce growth, nearshoring, and increasing sustainability requirements. Transco is focusing on automated systems, flexible storage concepts, and the highest safety standards. The site will include a unique hazardous materials storage facility in the region.
“With the new location, we are meeting the increasing demands of our customers in southern Germany and Switzerland,” explains Christian Bücheler, owner and CEO of the Transco Group. “Even in economically uncertain times, we are consciously investing in modern infrastructure in our region to provide our customers with stable and efficient logistics solutions in the long term. And to continue being a reliable employer.”
Location Advantage Singen: Interface Between the EU and Switzerland
The logistics center is located on the eastern outskirts of Singen, in close proximity to the local industrial cluster and about 10 km from the Swiss border. The proximity to the highway and the Hupac terminal for freight rail transport in Singen ensures a close network of international transport routes by road and rail. Thus, Transco is also leveraging its expertise in intermodal transport at the new location. Swiss companies expanding into the EU, as well as regionally based firms, benefit from fast and smooth processes.
“Logistics today is more than just storage; it is a competitive advantage,” emphasizes David Bücheler, co-owner and head of logistics at Transco. “Those who set up their supply chain efficiently can reduce costs, shorten delivery times, and increase customer satisfaction. With transport, warehousing, customs clearance, and e-fulfillment, we cover the entire supply chain. This means for our customers: one point of contact, fewer interfaces, less complexity.”
Sustainability in Focus
For Transco, sustainability means more than just environmental protection. The new building meets the BEG-40 standard. Photovoltaic systems, heat pumps, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, over 200 newly planted trees, and 3,500 m² of habitat areas for flora and fauna are part of the concept. Additionally, the logistics center features a hazardous materials storage facility and the necessary conditions for the safe storage of water-endangering substances. At the same time, the modern equipment with automated storage and process solutions increases profitability. Efficient land use, short distances, and optimized processes lead to lower operating costs and stable prices. This brings benefits for both Transco and its customers.
Investment as a Sign of Stability
The investment of around 40 million euros sends a clear signal: even in a volatile market environment, Transco is strategically investing in modern logistics infrastructure. “In such times, one can either complain or take action and look forward,” said Christian Bücheler during his speech at the groundbreaking ceremony. “Right now, the medium-sized businesses are a guarantee of stability.”
The new center expands the capacities at the existing main locations in Singen and Gottmadingen and strengthens the company’s position as a partner for complex supply chains, international traffic, and sustainable logistics solutions. Goldbeck GmbH, which specializes in turnkey logistics properties, is responsible for planning and construction.
