Planzer Takes Over the Fleet and Dispatch of Papyrus
28. September 2025The Transporeon Summit 2025 successfully concluded at the “Beurs van Berlage”, the former stock exchange of Amsterdam. Around 800 high-profile participants attended the fifth edition of this event. The various sessions were of a high standard and extremely interesting. There was also plenty of time for networking. Additionally, Transporeon announced the introduction of its new transport planner tool at the summit, which delivers optimal transport plans quickly and efficiently at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems.
(Ulm/Amsterdam) Among the many logistics events taking place from September to November, the Transporeon Summit has secured a firm place. Without appearing pretentious, this event stands out mainly in its choice of location compared to other events. The “Beurs van Berlage” in Amsterdam, the venue for this year’s summit, is an event building with a unique atmosphere. A special highlight was the networking night at the Maritime Museum of Amsterdam. In this fantastic building, networking almost happened on its own. It is also noteworthy that many Transporeon employees are available around the clock to cater to the guests’ needs, creating a personal atmosphere. The speakers (details here) and the participant field were also high-profile, featuring a healthy mix of logistics managers from industry and trade as well as logistics service providers.

Presentation of a New Transport Management System
At this year’s Transporeon Summit, Transporeon, a brand of Trimble, also presented its new, fully AI-supported Transport Management System (TMS). The platform is designed for an era in which logistics processes must not only be efficient but also intelligent, connected, and scalable. With new features, a modular architecture, and deep integration of artificial intelligence, Transporeon addresses key challenges throughout the entire transport process – from planning to execution to real-time transparency.
“The logistics industry demands intelligent and increasingly connected solutions,” says Jonah McIntire, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Transportation & Logistics at Trimble. “Our latest innovations offer an agile TMS designed for the AI era. Through seamless integration of planning, network execution, and enhanced real-time transparency, we provide our customers with unprecedented control over their entire transport cycle.”

Consistent Use of AI
At the center of the development is the consistent use of AI to automate manual processes, improve forecasting quality, and increase operational efficiency. Customers are already benefiting from noticeable effects: one company was able to increase its loading capacity by 20% through the use of the new Time Slot Management solution, while another customer reduced the number of inquiries about order status by 40% using the enhanced tracking features in Transporeon Visibility.
The new TMS utilizes AI throughout the entire transport process – from automated spot procurement and bidding to intelligent transport assignment and predictive recommendations for market prices, as well as precise forecasts for arrival and departure times. This enables fully data-driven management of transport networks with significantly higher agility and transparency.
A focus is on three strategic solution areas. In the area of Execution & Visibility, a new transport planner significantly simplifies the creation of optimal transport plans – with less effort and lower costs than previous systems. This is complemented by the integration of autonomous functions such as “Autonomous Procurement” and “Autonomous Quotation,” which can automate the entire spot procurement process, including bidding and negotiation. The tracking solution Transporeon Visibility has been expanded with new features for sea and air freight, such as managing demurrage and detention, allowing for continuous real-time monitoring from origin to destination.
Innovations in the Freight Marketplace
Transporeon is also bringing innovations to the Freight Marketplace based on data science and AI: Strategic tenders benefit from enhanced multi-lane RFQ features as well as precise market analyses based on the product “Market Insight.” Shippers and carriers thus receive well-founded decision-making bases for optimized freight allocation.
In the area of Dock & Yard Management, next-generation Time Slot Management ensures optimized processes on the yard. With the new “Yard Pre-Check-In” and the integration of digital transport documents, a fully paperless and automated truck processing is made possible – a crucial step towards end-to-end digitization of logistics processes.
The new TMS is based on a modular platform architecture that can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements. The use is based on a flexible, consumption-based pricing model that avoids high licensing fees. Companies only pay for the functions they actually use. Through the integrated network – one of the largest in the industry with over 158,000 carriers and 1,400 shippers and retailers – the effort for complex individual integrations is eliminated. An open, interoperable system architecture also allows for seamless integration of external systems and partner solutions.
“Transporeon’s TMS enables our customers to easily adapt the system to their needs, thereby increasing agility and reducing costs,” says Philipp Pfister, Sector Vice President at Transporeon. “This marks a milestone on our journey: we have laid the foundation and are now unlocking the full potential of the platform with expanded AI-driven features. The added value lies not only in our advanced, adaptable tools but also in the exponential benefits our customers gain by connecting to a single, large network of shippers, carriers, and freight forwarders. By empowering our customers, we strengthen the entire network.”
Available Now
The new transport planner tool is now available. Additional features, particularly in the areas of freight procurement and yard management, are currently in beta phase and are expected to be rolled out gradually by the first quarter of 2026. All innovations were presented at the product event NEXT as part of the Transporeon Summit 2025.
