STILL Relies on Würth Industry Service for Procurement
3. October 2025ek robotics GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of Autonomous Transport Systems (ATS), has found a new owner in NEURA Robotics GmbH. This secures the future of the traditional company in the long term. The acquisition is the result of a self-administered restructuring process.
(Hamburg/Metzingen) With NEURA Robotics, a dynamically growing high-tech company from Metzingen in the field of cognitive robotics, ek robotics gains a partner that sets the course for the further development of intelligent, autonomous logistics solutions and opens up new opportunities for customers, partners, and employees.
“With NEURA Robotics, we gain a partner that complements our business with innovative strength and offers us new, exciting perspectives. For our employees, customers, and suppliers, this is a clear signal: ek robotics remains a strong player in intralogistics,” explains Andreas Lindemann, Managing Director of ek robotics.
Europe and Germany Want to Play a Leading Role
NEURA Robotics also emphasizes the importance of the partnership: “The acquisition of ek robotics is much more than just a purchase: it is a breakthrough into a new dimension of mobile robotics. Together, we will combine existing strengths with our product portfolios, bring innovations to market faster, and create a global offering that sets standards. We want to not only continue the products of ek robotics but also make them the global benchmark again with new energy and ideas. This is a win for customers, for our partners, and for all employees. It is also a strong signal that Germany and Europe aspire to play a leading role in this largest future market,” says David Reger, CEO of NEURA Robotics GmbH.
The acquisition is the result of a self-administered restructuring process, in which intensive work has been done in recent weeks to find a viable solution.
As part of the transaction, the company will henceforth operate under the name Neura Mobile Robotics GmbH. The established brand ek robotics will remain as an independent brand and will continue to be present in the market. The operational responsibility will continue to lie with Andreas Lindemann, who will lead the company into the future in his role as Managing Director. The business operations of ek robotics will continue without restriction. All existing customer and supplier relationships will be maintained, and all services are permanently secured. In addition to the German company, the subsidiaries in England, Italy, and the Czech Republic are also part of the transaction – they were not affected by the process.
Currently, ek robotics employs around 300 employees at 5 locations worldwide and generated a revenue of approximately 60 million euros in the 2024 fiscal year.
Trustee Welcomes the Solution
The trustee appointed by the district court, Stefan Denkhaus, explicitly welcomes the solution: “The acquisition by NEURA Robotics safeguards the interests of creditors, customers, and employees alike and creates a stable foundation for the further development of the company.”
