Oct 16, 2025 at 12:28 PMThe Geis Group, one of the leading logistics service providers in Central and Eastern Europe, is now a member of the international air and sea freight network WACO. As one of two exclusive German partners, the company is expanding its international presence in the area of Air + Sea Services. The membership comes just a few months after the strategic realignment of the business unit under the leadership of Klaus Hrazdira.
(Bad Neustadt/Nuremberg) WACO (World Air Cargo Organisation) is the leading global network of independent logistics service providers. The cooperation unites 121 member companies in 118 countries – together they operate over 400 locations with more than 21,000 experts. Each year, the network handles more than 1.85 million shipments with over one million tons and generates revenue of over 3.4 billion euros.
Long-standing expertise secures network membership
The decision for the Geis Group was made after an extensive evaluation by WACO. Key factors included the international orientation of the corporate group, performance over the past years, and proven handling quality. Additionally, Geis’s long-standing experience in other successful cooperations, such as IDS for the general cargo sector in Germany, was convincing.
“With our admission to WACO, we are joining one of the most renowned global networks,” explain Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis, managing partners of the Geis Group. “This partnership is another important building block in our strategy to consistently develop the Air + Sea Services area further.”
Perfect Extension for Realignment
The WACO membership fits seamlessly into the restructuring of the Air + Sea Services completed in April 2025. Klaus Hrazdira, COO of Quehenberger Logistics, has taken on the European-wide responsibility for the entire business unit of the Geis Group – a crucial step in the integration of the corporate group following the integration of Quehenberger Logistics.
“The WACO membership is the ideal complement to our strategic realignment,” says Klaus Hrazdira. “The international network offers us excellent opportunities to provide our customers with even better logistics solutions worldwide while benefiting from proven digital platforms and processes.”
Digital Innovations and Proven Quality
As a WACO member, the Geis Group gains access to state-of-the-art digital solutions, including a global track-and-trace system and data exchange platforms. Additionally, Geis benefits from preferred carrier programs.
“The WACO partnership underscores our commitment to providing our customers with first-class logistics solutions across borders,” summarize Hans-Wolfgang Geis and Jochen Geis. “With a strong partner by our side, we can strategically expand international transport and unlock new market opportunities.”
