BUILDINX 2025: Defense Drives Demand for Logistics Properties
7. November 2025The logistics sector is facing one of the most profound transformations in its history. Economic, technological, and societal developments are forcing companies to rethink value chains. The Network Logistics Association (VNL) frames this change under the motto “Autonomous Logistics through Networking” – and invites you to the Swiss Logistics Innovation Day in Zofingen on November 25, 2025.
(Zurich/Zofingen) Connected systems are considered the foundation of self-driving logistics, where data flows in real-time, processes respond dynamically, and supply chains interact intelligently. However, networking goes beyond technology: it arises from cooperation, trust, and shared goals among industry, research, start-ups, and politics.
According to a study by the World Economic Forum, Smart Logistics alone can generate a value contribution of over 10 billion CHF in logistics and 16 billion CHF for society in Switzerland – a clear indication of the potential of connected value creation.
Insights from Research and Practice
The program brings together leading minds from business, science, and technology. Among the keynote speakers are:
- Anna Chirkova (AMAG) on the future of automated transport fleets
- Thomas Laarz (Dassault Systèmes) on digital twins in logistics
- Oliver Gaede (OGIL) on the interoperability of TMS systems
- Dr. Alexander Souza (Algomia) on AI-based planning optimization
- Prof. Gianpiero Mattei (SUPSI) on autonomous systems and intermodality
Workshops titled “Rethink Logistics” will delve into topics such as supply chain transparency, synchronization of material flows, or automation in the last mile. A start-up corner and a showcase area will provide innovative young companies the opportunity to present their solutions live.
Networking as a Driver of Innovation
With around 1,000 member companies from Switzerland and Austria, the VNL promotes exchange between industry, trade, research, and solution providers. The Swiss Logistics Innovation Day serves as the annual highlight of this network – a meeting point for decision-makers, visionaries, and doers who understand logistics as a driver of a sustainable, resilient, and intelligent society.
