12. December 2025Hong Kong Air Cargo Industry Services Limited (Hacis) has expanded its collaboration with Flexport, a global provider of logistics and supply chain technologies, into a strategic partnership. The aim of this cooperation is to establish Hong Kong as a transit hub for Flexport.
The partnership began with the provision of postal services by Hacis and has gradually expanded to include Merge-in-Transit (MiT) solutions as well as import and export services directly at the airport. Currently, Hacis offers a comprehensive service package that enables Flexport to route cargo more efficiently through Hong Kong.
With Hacis’s MiT solution, shipments from various countries of origin are consolidated in Hong Kong under the control of the freight forwarder before being transported further. The Airport Direct services include pickup, delivery, documentation, airport storage, containerization, and order fulfillment. These services are offered directly next to the apron at SuperTerminal 1, allowing for quick and efficient processing.
Ringo Chan, Executive Director of Hacis, emphasizes: „With our fully integrated one-stop-shop service, we enable Flexport to route cargo through Hong Kong with greater reliability and efficiency. This partnership demonstrates how Hacis adapts to the changing needs of customers and supports their growth while Hong Kong maintains its competitiveness in the global air freight market.“
Daniel Sanvicente, Senior Vice President and Head of APAC at Flexport, adds: „Through the one-stop-shop approach and direct access to the airport, the partnership with Hacis allows Flexport to offer highly efficient, consolidated air freight services across a broad network. Leveraging Hong Kong’s strategic location as a key access point for cargo from South China enhances our connectivity and service offerings, fostering Flexport’s continuous growth in South China as well as our expanding presence in Southeast Asia and beyond.“
In light of the changing dynamics in the global supply chain, Flexport continues to expand its network in the Asia-Pacific region, enhancing its air freight capabilities and utilizing Hong Kong’s position as a transit hub for regional and global trade. The deepening collaboration with Hacis underscores Flexport’s commitment to smoother logistics processes and greater flexibility.
