5. March 2020(Munich, March 4, 2020) Despite the coronavirus issue, the LogiMAT trade fair organizer EUROEXPO Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, Munich, along with the Landesmesse Stuttgart and the relevant local authorities, had so far assumed the feasibility of LogiMAT – 18th International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Management in Stuttgart. The health department of Esslingen saw no increased risk for exhibitors and visitors.
However, the risk of infection is now escalating due to the intensified and accelerated spread of the coronavirus in Germany, particularly in the Stuttgart region. The responsible regulatory office of Leinfelden-Echterdingen has, on the urgent recommendation of the relevant health department of the district of Esslingen, ordered the cancellation of LogiMAT 2020 to the trade fair organizer late this afternoon.
“This is bitter, as LogiMAT Stuttgart is of outstanding importance for the global intralogistics industry. The cancellation of LogiMAT 2020 due to external, unpredictable circumstances is a novelty in its 18-year history. Despite great efforts, we could not find a suitable date for a later event in 2020 with the Landesmesse Stuttgart, and therefore, we have reluctantly decided to cancel LogiMAT 2020,” explains Christoph Huss, managing partner of EUROEXPO, the cancellation.
The next LogiMAT will take place from March 9 to 11, 2021, in Stuttgart.
