(Hamburg) Modern wagons for optimal liquefied gas transport: VTG Rail Logistics has successfully completed the modernization initiative of the LPG pool. Since 2014, the fleet has been gradually renewed, with around 800 of the nearly 1,500 tank wagons refurbished or exchanged. The modernized fleet offers numerous advantages: the wagons now provide a higher payload, enabling more efficient transport. Additionally, the newly installed braking systems are significantly quieter, while crash buffers ensure even safer hazardous goods transport. The energy absorption elements capture impact energy and protect the tank. Furthermore, the majority of the wagons are equipped with the telematics module VTG Connector, which enables a range of additional services such as tracking and tracing.
“We are pleased that we were able to successfully and timely complete the modernization initiative of our LPG pool in these challenging times,” says Frank Bensaid, Managing Director at VTG Rail Logistics Germany. “With the modern fleet, we can now offer our customers even more efficient and safer spot transports.” VTG Rail Logistics manages the largest private LPG fleet in Europe with the tank wagon pool and offers customers freight services of all kinds – from individual services to integrated door-to-door solutions. Both annual quantities and spot volumes are transported.
