6. August 2020Emons Moves to a New Logistics Facility in the Brno Region
7. August 2020With the new Tourdriver app from NIC-place, position data for tours can be transmitted easily without registration and without permanently installed hardware. This especially facilitates communication with subcontractors who are not integrated into the telematics system.
(Kempten) NIC-place, a logistics solution with secure data handling tools for digital cooperation with partners in the supply chain and an expert in the integration of telematics data, launches its own “Tourdriver” app to complete its range of functions for collecting essential position data to represent logistical transport processes.
Tourdriver is the app for NIC-place Tourboard customers to track commercial vehicles without permanently installed telematics or short-term transport orders. The driver receives an order via email and can open it without registration in the previously installed app. The driver then manually starts and stops the data transmission with a click. When the tour is completed, the transmission of position data is automatically stopped. The app is already available for free download in the Google Play Store and will soon be available in the Apple App Store.
Information Clearly Presented
“All tour information is clearly presented to the driver. This helps with organization and the willingness to actively share data,” explains Pete Jendras, CEO of NIC-place, regarding the new feature as part of the service offering for transport processes, known as tours.
Through the Tourdriver app, GPS data is transmitted to the client and their NIC-place Tourboard during a tour. The client can track, monitor, and document their transport process as usual based on the data, and is always informed whether their goods arrive on time. “With the new app, we facilitate the digital collaboration of our customers with their subcontractors when access to telematics data is not possible,” says Jendras.
