17. August 2020Jade-Dienst GmbH has recorded two successful trial runs for car handling in Wilhelmshaven. Used vehicles were loaded for North Africa. Approximately 700 vehicles are loaded per shipment. The idea for car handling emerged only at the beginning of this year.
(PressBox/Wilhelmshaven) Together with Jade Car Logistics GmbH, Jade-Dienst GmbH successfully completed two loadings of used vehicles for North Africa / Eastern Mediterranean in April and June. These mainly consist of cars and trucks intended for the African market, but some will also remain in the Levant region. On average, about 700 vehicles are loaded per shipment. The vehicles are stored on a site that is additionally secured and compliant with ISPS Code until final shipment. “Since cargo to these regions is subject to special requirements, we sought close communication with the involved authorities and their representatives at a very early stage,” says Timo Schön, Managing Director of Jade-Dienst GmbH. “The first two loadings have shown us that we are excellently positioned to meet our customer’s requirements. The third attempt is already scheduled for the middle of next week.”
Idea for Car Loading Came at the Beginning of the Year
The idea for handling emerged at the beginning of the year after the entry of the two main shareholders Hans Oestmann and Michael Schaefer. Oestmann, who was already in contact with this industry through his Hamburg setup, quickly saw the potential of the storage areas and the readily available well-trained staff of Jade-Dienst. “At first, it might have been a fixed idea, but the market’s acceptance has proven us right,” summarizes Oestmann, and his partner Michael Schaefer is also very satisfied with the first two trial loadings. “Our team has worked extremely solution-oriented and flexibly, which is essential given the often very advanced age of the vehicles and their corresponding condition. We very much hope that with this idea we have gained another successful business for the maritime location of Wilhelmshaven.”
