8. September 2020The Wystrach GmbH, specialized in transport containers and vehicles for natural gas and hydrogen, presents the ‘WyRefueler’, a mobile hydrogen refueling station. This station is now available for order. Prior to its presentation, the refueling station was tested by the Dutch transport service provider Breytner.
(Weeze) Wystrach is now launching a mobile hydrogen refueling station suitable for numerous applications. The company, specialized in high-pressure systems and hydrogen technology, presents the WyRefueler, a 350 bar hydrogen refueling solution that is suitable for trucks, buses, and trains, as well as for vehicles on construction sites, in ports, or at airports. “Our goal from the very beginning was to develop a user-friendly and highly flexible plug & play solution,” says Wolfgang Wolter, Managing Director of Technology & Sales. “The system can be set up or dismantled within a day and only requires a 63A connection. The WyRefueler makes emission-free logistics and intralogistics easily possible – at always new locations.”
The system can be customized according to customer requirements
The mobile hydrogen refueling station consists of two components: the tank container and the refueling station. Both can be transported independently as a BDF swap body vehicle. This modular solution allows for particularly flexible use. The basic s variant features a 20 ft tank container, 313 kg H₂ usable volume, 88 kg buffer storage, and a refuelable amount of 180 kg H₂ per day. “The system can be customized according to customer requirements, for example with a larger tank container volume, a more powerful compressor, or additional cooling,” says Wolter. The WyRefueler is fundamentally equipped with intelligent control and operates autonomously.
Compact setup, quick and simple refueling
After several weeks of use with the Dutch zero-emission transport service provider Breytner, Managing Director Marie-José Baartmans reports on the experiences: “The WyRefueler is an enormous relief for daily operations: it is compact in setup and incredibly easy to use, refueling is quick and simple.” In daily business, this means a significant increase in flexibility, adds Jeroen Baartmans, also Managing Director of the logistics company: “The system has greatly facilitated our daily operations, as we could plan our routes normally with a hydrogen truck: trips to the public refueling station became unnecessary, and waiting in line at the station was eliminated. Moreover, the WyRefueler was available without any disruptions throughout the entire deployment. This brings both time and financial advantages.” Obtaining the operating permit for the own premises “was quick and straightforward,” says the Managing Director. The mobile hydrogen refueling station is delivered with a comprehensive consulting and service package, which facilitates obtaining the necessary operating permits. A remote control function allows for monitoring the system around the clock. The service also includes setting up and commissioning the WyRefueler at the customer’s site. After training, the system can be operated independently.
