CEO Bernhard Simon of Dachser Moves to the Supervisory Board

For Dachser’s CEO, Bernhard Simon, and his board colleague and COO Road Logistics, Michael Schilling, the departure from the board is approaching. However, both will move to the supervisory board on January 1, 2021, leaving the chairmanship of the board to Burkard Eling.

(Kempten) As of January 1, Dachser CEO Bernhard Simon and Michael Schilling, COO Road Logistics, will move to the supervisory board of the family-owned company. They leave behind a highly stable and crisis-resistant company for the new board team led by Burkhard Eling. Bernhard Simon on the changes at the top management of Dachser.

Keeping Control Despite Corona

We will not let the Corona pandemic take control away from us. This was our guiding principle when we communicated the long-planned changes at the top management of Dachser for January 1, 2021, at the end of March – amidst the shutdown in Europe and many other countries around the world. This was a bold step at a time filled with uncertainties and pessimistic future prospects. However, it came at exactly the right time. The year 2020 has impressively demonstrated how robust and adaptable the Dachser network of people, locations, and IT systems is even in crisis. We were always ready to perform under sometimes difficult conditions. Our customers and service partners have benefited from this strength.

A New Era at Dachser

After 31 years of joint operational leadership, my board colleague and deputy, COO Road Logistics Michael Schilling, and I leave behind a highly stable and crisis-resistant company, our life’s work. In the supervisory board, we will continue to engage with full vigor for Dachser. For us, it is a new beginning, not a farewell. Burkhard Eling and his future board team have once again proven themselves impressively in the past year. They will now usher in the next era on our path to becoming the world’s most integrated logistics service provider while continuing a good tradition: creating value and optimizing the logistics balance of Dachser’s customers.
