Lufthansa Cargo Renovates Air Freight Center in Frankfurt
22. January 2021VTG is expanding its established VTG FastTrack service. It is now available in the Port of Trieste and Venlo. Container and pocket wagons can be called upon for short-term transports. Bookings can be made via the online platform traigo around the clock.
(Hamburg) The service is already established in ports like Rotterdam and Gothenburg, and now VTG FastTrack is launching at two more central hubs in Europe: The service is now available in the ports of Trieste and Venlo. VTG FastTrack offers customers maximum flexibility. Thanks to the 24/7 service, they can quickly and easily book additional transport capacities even for short-term planning and peak orders. “With VTG FastTrack, we have established a premium service across Europe that makes a valuable contribution to connecting the respective ports,” says Sven Wellbrock, Chief Operating Officer Europe and Chief Safety Officer of VTG AG. “By providing wagons on short notice and with digital support, we create capacities for transports that have mostly been handled by road so far. This not only offers our customers an attractive service but also contributes to achieving the transport and environmental policy goal of shifting more goods from road to rail.”
Exclusive Cooperation in Trieste
The Italian port of Trieste consolidates short-sea continental traffic as well as maritime traffic and is a central transshipment point for numerous operators and shipping companies. VTG FastTrack is starting here with an exclusive cooperation with the local partner Adriafer, the port’s own shunting company. A complete set of 16 TWIN wagons (double pocket wagons) is now available on site for transport. These are suitable for transporting semi-trailers, swap bodies, and containers. An expansion and opening of the service to additional customers and interested parties is already in planning.
Online Bookings via traigo in Venlo
In addition, the service for short-term transports is now also available in the Dutch port of Venlo, operated by Cabooter. Here, customers can book a set of 23 90-foot container wagons for maritime and continental traffic online around the clock. This is made possible by the innovative booking and analysis platform traigo. traigo bundles VTG’s digital offerings around rail freight transport and serves customers as a central interface for digital fleet management.
