(Kempten) For many years, Soloplan has supported the Kempten-based University of Applied Sciences. From sponsoring the Soloplan lecture hall since 2006 to the establishment of the “Laboratory for Innovation and Digitalization in Logistics” at the Faculty of Computer Science in 2018, Soloplan is committed to Kempten University and thus offers young students the opportunity to enjoy an optimal education at the location. To emphasize the successful collaboration between the university management, professors, students, and Soloplan, Managing Director Wolfgang Heidl has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the university for the current term.
The family business founded by Wolfgang Heidl has been developing the logistics software CarLo® since 1994 and primarily addresses the fields of Computer Science, Business Informatics, and Game Engineering in Kempten. However, business administration graduates also regularly find their place at the software house of the logistics industry. Often, students start with an internship during their studies, as bachelor’s or master’s candidates, and take on their own projects and responsibilities from the very beginning. “It is important for us to set practical tasks that are oriented towards current trends in the IT industry. These projects are carried out by students independently and ultimately present their successful final results. As a result, students and graduates take on an important role in our team in a very short time,” says Wolfgang Heidl, CEO of Soloplan.
Advisory Board Supports the Interests of the University
To further deepen the years of collaboration and partnership, Wolfgang Heidl has now been unanimously appointed to the Advisory Board of Kempten University by the Senate in its last session. The Advisory Board supports the interests of Kempten University in public and promotes its fulfillment of tasks. Members are appointed for a term of four years on the proposal of the university management and carry out their activities on a voluntary basis.
In addition to the new Advisory Board member Wolfgang Heidl, two other sons of the Heidl family are already working as lecturers at the university. Fabian Heidl, CEO International at Soloplan, is a lecturer for the Master’s program in Logistics, while Christian Heidl, as head of the development department, takes on this role for the field of Business Informatics. Soloplan and Kempten University – a successful and sustainable partnership in the long term.
