14. July 2021More and more logistics and transport companies are considering the acquisition of an e-truck. However, it is often difficult for customers to recognize whether an eTruck can actually cover the usual operational profile of conventional trucks in the fleet. To address this, FUSO is now providing potential new customers of the fully electric FUSO eCanter light truck with further transparency when entering the e-mobility market.
(Stuttgart) The Daimler Trucks “eTruck Ready” app is now available in the eCanter key markets of Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Portugal, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, and Austria.
This is a free application that allows customers to check which operational profiles and routes are suitable for the FUSO eCanter. The smartphone app records the actual driving routes of a conventional vehicle: it captures speed, acceleration, and elevation profile along the route. Important parameters such as load condition and outside temperature can be added later by fleet managers in a personalized web portal. From this data, the program determines the respective range and expected power consumption of the FUSO eCanter. This creates a realistic and meaningful usage profile for customers.
Part of a Holistic E-Consulting Approach
The “eTruck Ready” app is part of the holistic E-Consulting approach from Daimler Trucks. Since 2020, Daimler Trucks has been supporting potential Mercedes-Benz eActros customers in evaluating their electrification potential using the app. Now that the app is also compatible with the eCanter, FUSO is further expanding its leading role in CO2-neutral transport. The “eTruck Ready” app is available for both iOS and Android in their respective app stores.
Since the introduction of the eCanter in 2017, FUSO has been a pioneer and trailblazer in electric trucks, consistently working towards the implementation of sustainable, CO2-neutral transport solutions. In line with Daimler Trucks’ sustainability strategy, FUSO is leading the commercial vehicle industry into the future and aims for all new vehicles in the triad (Europe, North America, and Japan) to be “tank-to-wheel” CO2-neutral by 2039. The eCanter plays an important role in achieving climate-neutral transport, which is being pursued by various governments in European countries. To date, more than 200 FUSO eCanters are in daily customer operation worldwide.
