23. July 2021Panattoni, the leading project developer for industrial and logistics properties in Europe, is realizing a distribution center for the online retailer Amazon in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria. The location is about 1.5 km from the city center and has excellent access to the A7 motorway, the B10 federal road, and public transport. Amazon will use the property for its last-mile logistics.
(Hamburg/Neu-Ulm) On a conversion area of approximately 20,000 sqm, Panattoni is developing 4,181 sqm of logistics space and 2,571 sqm of office space. The property, with a total usable area of around 6,700 sqm, is being constructed according to the DGNB Gold certification and has a height of 10 m above ground level. Additionally, there will be a parking garage with a total of 192 van parking spaces, with preparations for e-mobility for part of them. Another 58 car parking spaces will be created in the outdoor areas. The Finningerstraße S-Bahn station is only 800 m away.
“We are very pleased to open a distribution center in Neu-Ulm, which incorporates more than 20 years of logistical expertise, technological advancement, and investments in transport infrastructure. This allows Amazon to offer customers faster and more flexible delivery options,” comments Martin Andersen, Director of Amazon Logistics in Germany.
Completion by the End of 2021
Panattoni began construction work in early 2021, with completion scheduled for the end of 2021. As part of the revitalization measures, intensive soil investigations and extensive demolition work were necessary. This is already the seventh property that Panattoni has realized for Amazon in Germany since 2019. The developer has already built distribution centers in Kaltenkirchen north of Hamburg, Knüllwald near Kassel, in Magdeburg, and in the Jade-Weser-Park.
Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner at Panattoni, comments on the project: “In Neu-Ulm, we are developing a new location for Amazon that stands out due to its attractive location in an established commercial area with excellent access to the city center and the motorways. The city benefits from the revitalization of the brownfield site and the creation of over a hundred jobs.”
As a property broker, the company Frank Immobilien GmbH based in Stuttgart was involved.
