Energy and Climate Port Moorburg Important for the Port of Hamburg
24. November 2021The FAB Fördertechnik und Anlagenbau GmbH from Waldshut-Tiengen has a new owner effective October 1, 2021. The previous managing director Werner Späth takes over the company, which was founded in 1974 by Anton Müller. The machinery and plant manufacturer produces system solutions for intralogistics.
(Waldshut-Tiengen) The succession plan for FAB had been in the works for some time by company founder Anton Müller. Preparations were made together to ensure a smooth transition. Werner Späth, who has been with the company since 2015, studied business administration, freight forwarding, transport, and logistics at DHBW in Lörrach after his training. He then completed his master’s degree in business management at HFWU in Nürtingen. At FAB, he served as commercial director and authorized signatory before being appointed managing director in 2019. “It is important to me to advance and modernize the company,” says Späth. The 31-year-old new owner invested in new manufacturing machines and modern software. Furthermore, additional digitization projects are planned for the coming years. The entrepreneur’s goal is to strengthen FAB’s positioning in the broad intralogistics market further.
Entry into container conveyor technology
The business field of material flow systems was expanded in 2021 with the entry into lightweight goods conveyor technology (container conveyor technology). This allowed FAB to address new customer segments and offer existing customers an even broader product portfolio. Alongside the modernization and positioning of the company, Späth particularly emphasizes the human factor as one of the most important pillars of business success. “A good collaboration within the team is the foundation for overcoming future challenges together,” concludes Werner Späth. “On this basis, we will significantly shape the further growth of FAB.”
