Saxon Inland Ports on the Upper Elbe Achieve Record Throughput
1. February 2022DHL is now expanding its service offering for contract customers in international goods shipping. The improved “International Goods Post” provides secure and reliable shipping of small-format goods to over 220 countries and territories worldwide. The integration of International Goods Post into the DHL business customer portal makes it significantly easier for registered business customers to order the shipping of their products as goods-bearing international letters, track these shipments, and view invoices and reports.
(Bonn) The International Goods Post is transported within the letter network of Deutsche Post and the respective international delivery partner. This generally means consistently high quality, largely independent of seasonal fluctuations, such as those that can occur in parcel networks during the pre-Christmas period.
The International Goods Post is available to contract customers who send more than 200 goods-bearing shipments (parcel and/or goods post shipments) in total. They can choose between the “Standard” and “Premium” options. The Standard shipping option is the cheapest but, as with national letter shipping, does not include tracking or liability. These are only included in the Premium variant.
“With the International Goods Post, we offer our business customers additional, competitively priced and qualitatively attractive options for the international shipping of small-format goods,” says Alexander Schauer, who is responsible for product management Export/Crossborder in the Post & Parcel Germany division. “Transport within the letter network particularly ensures high transit quality worldwide, especially with Premium shipping. This provides the sender with a unique price-performance ratio.”
Customers can also send the International Goods Post in an environmentally friendly manner with a €0.20 “GoGreen surcharge” per shipment, regardless of the destination country.
Aligning Even More Strongly with the Needs of E-Commerce Customers
“Global shipping, especially of small-format and lightweight shipments, continues to grow very strongly,” says Alexander Schauer. “This has prompted us to align the International Goods Post even more closely with the needs of our e-commerce customers. For shippers, this means that they will be able to send all national and international goods-bearing products from DHL Parcel and Deutsche Post through unified systems and with harmonized processes, and track their shipments. This reduces complexity and supports our customers in remaining competitive in this important growth segment.”
