More trans-o-flex Locations Receive TAPA Certification

Three locations in the trans-o-flex Express network have received the highly demanding TAPA certifications for the first time. These are the branches of the express service specialized in logistics solutions for the healthcare, cosmetics, consumer electronics industries, and other high-quality, sensitive goods located in Driedorf (Hesse), St. Ingbert (Saarland), and Nuremberg (Bavaria).

(Weinheim) TAPA stands for Transported Asset Protection Association and is an independent organization supported by shippers that has established the highest security standards in transport worldwide. In addition to the new certification of the three mentioned locations, the locations in Hürth (Cologne) and Hamm-Rhynern (Dortmund) were successfully recertified in December.

The locations are certified according to the TAPA standard FSR-C 2020. “This standard is more demanding than anything in ISO quality management regarding security requirements. It is the ideal foundation for the further development of our security processes and technology,” explains Wolfgang P. Albeck, CEO of trans-o-flex. “The highest security standards are vital for a company that focuses on the transport of sensitive goods,” says the company head. “Almost as important is to document the achieved level externally.”

Regular Training of Personnel

For certification, all security-relevant processes must be documented. Defined technical security measures are required. Both are audited annually. Finally, all personnel involved in transport and handling must regularly participate in security training. The TAPA, founded by demanding shippers, also sets very specific structural requirements, such as for fences, access regulations, or video surveillance. All certified locations have been equipped with a video management system that allows for targeted and rapid searches for individual packages.
