16. February 2022The 2021 Sustainability Report highlights the progress and successes of DSV’s initiatives in the areas of environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance. It is the most detailed report to date from the Danish transport and logistics company, which aims for a comprehensive reduction of its ecological footprint.
(Kopenhagen) DSV has published a comprehensive sustainability report that outlines the company’s commitment and contribution in the areas of environment, social responsibility, and corporate governance (ESG – Environmental Social Governance). It is the most detailed report to date, providing even higher data accuracy through the introduction of new standards and external audits, thereby creating greater transparency.
The reporting practices have been aligned with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), which assesses the impact of climate change on DSV’s business and provides an overview of the key climate-related risks and opportunities. This has been implemented in collaboration with the Sustainability Standards Board (SASB), which creates sustainability-related disclosure standards and aims to serve as a transparent decision-making basis for investors. This is an important step for DSV, as the financial world increasingly demands standardized, high-quality ESG reporting. In addition, DSV meets the standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the independent international organization that represents the world’s most widely used standard for sustainability reporting.
Advancing the Sustainability Agenda within the Industry
“DSV’s sustainability ambitions have grown in recent years, and the size of our company requires us to actively advance the sustainability agenda within our industry, which we also want to do. I am pleased with the important steps we have taken and believe that our 2021 report highlights the important role that sustainability plays at DSV,” says Jens Bjørn Andersen, Group CEO, DSV A/S, and continues: “At DSV, we are guided by our goal of keeping supply chains moving in a changing world, enabling sustainable growth for DSV and our stakeholders, and reducing the ecological footprint of our activities.”
A Series of Measures for Improvement
The Executive Vice President of Group Compliance at DSV, Martin Andreasen, is pleased with the comprehensive 2021 Sustainability Report and emphasizes the importance of data integrity and accuracy: “I am proud of the high level of reporting we have achieved. In 2021, we introduced a series of new frameworks, standards, and external assurances to enhance our report and provide stakeholders with comprehensive disclosure, reliability, and data accuracy. This has been achieved while we continue to raise our ambitions and further develop our sustainability programs within the organization. I am pleased with the progress we have made in all areas of sustainability and believe we have set a new benchmark on which we can continue to build.”
Achievements in 2021
In 2021, DSV launched Green Logistics. This is an ambitious package of green solutions ranging from CO2 reporting and strategic supply chain optimization to emissions compensation and sustainable fuel offerings. Each solution aims to reduce the emissions of DSV’s customers and DSV’s Scope 3 emissions for subcontracted transport.
In addition to Green Logistics, DSV has also introduced a global policy on diversity and inclusion. The policy reaffirms the belief that employees should have the opportunity to realize their potential, regardless of their diverse individual backgrounds. It was introduced alongside an e-learning program on diversity and inclusion, which was rolled out globally and completed by managers and HR staff.
