DB Cargo and Menzels Lokschuppen with Model Locomotives for Ukraine

In light of the current situation, the well-known model building specialist retailer Menzels Lokschuppen & Töff Töff GmbH from Düsseldorf and DB Cargo have jointly launched a fundraising campaign at short notice. As part of this campaign, the specialist retailer Menzels Lokschuppen is releasing a model locomotive designed after the DB rail bridge locomotive, for which the DB Cargo locomotive “Model” stands, onto the market. From the proceeds, 100 euros per sold locomotive will go to the Deutsche Bahn Stiftung to support people fleeing the war and provide targeted assistance.

(Mainz) Deutsche Bahn has established a logistics network to transport aid supplies directly from Germany to Ukraine. The logistics teams of DB Cargo, DB Schenker, and DB Transa-Spedition are working hand in hand. Urgently needed goods such as food, drinking water, warm clothing, sanitary items, and medical products are being transported directly into the country via freight trains over the DB rail bridge. Donations are collected in Germany by truck, packed into containers, and finally transported by freight train across the border into Ukraine via the European rail network of DB Cargo.

National and International Aid for Ukraine

Menzels Lokschuppen and DB Cargo are supporting the Ukraine aid of the Deutsche Bahn Stiftung with their fundraising campaign. Together with their long-standing close partner, the Bahnhofsmission, the foundation is currently providing immediate humanitarian aid in trains and at train stations in Germany to support, advise, and guide the arriving refugees. Internationally, the Deutsche Bahn Stiftung is also providing humanitarian aid for people fleeing the war in Ukraine with experienced partners and DB’s own logistics expertise. In April, the transport of medical aid supplies, medical devices, and medications to a hospital in western Ukraine is planned. Additionally, there are plans to promote educational and psychosocial support services for refugee children and adolescents.

Secure the Model Locomotive and Donate at the Same Time

The model locomotives from the fundraising campaign are available through the Bahnshop as well as, of course, through the online shop of Menzels Lokschuppen. Pre-sales started on April 12 and will run until May 31, 2022; the locomotives will be delivered starting in October 2022.
