7. February 2023The Contargo Group is restructuring its management to organize intermodal transport services in a more connected and sustainable manner. Jürgen Albersmann will be the new chairman of Contargo. Marcel Hulsker, Thomas Löffler, and Uwe Storch are also part of the management team.
(Duisburg) After a challenging business year in 2022, the company is now setting the course for the future. In order to continue growing along European transport corridors and create relevant perspectives for employees, the Contargo Group has decided to adjust its organizational structure effective March 1, 2023. The more functional structure is also intended to benefit customers. Among other things, Contargo aims to improve the interplay between transport and terminal services and harmonize its processes across the entire network. The new organizational structure is also intended to facilitate the timely digitization and automation of the company.
The board has appointed Jürgen Albersmann as the new chairman of the management of Contargo. “We are pleased to have an extremely competent and experienced leader at the helm of our growing company starting March 2023,” says Andreas Stöckli, board member of Rhenus SE & Co. KG. “Due to his nearly ten years of experience as Managing Director at Contargo, Jürgen Albersmann knows the company exceptionally well. Additionally, he brings around 25 years of experience in the logistics sector and is therefore a market expert.”
Years of Experience
Jürgen Albersmann will lead the Contargo Group together with the three members of the management team, Marcel Hulsker, Thomas Löffler, and Uwe Storch, and will be responsible for the sustainable development of the three functional organizational units: Transport, Terminal Network, and Services. The native Westphalian earned his degree in economics from the University of Münster in 1997. In 2008, he completed the Executive Master of Business Administration in Logistics at the University of St. Gallen. Jürgen Albersmann brings several years of experience from leadership positions in the fields of freight forwarding, rail freight transport, and port logistics.
