Successful Restructuring of LHG
Mar 2, 2023 at 3:45 PMThe Craiss Group is expanding its collaboration with a German automotive manufacturer. The logistics company has once again been entrusted by the vehicle manufacturer based in Stuttgart with just-in-time round trips between its Eastern European suppliers and its German production sites. Now, the Polish Craiss Logistyka Sp. z o.o. also serves the flow of goods as the third foreign subsidiary. Additionally, the volumes of existing orders from the Hungarian Craiss Generation Logistik Kft. and the Romanian Craiss Logistik S.R.L. have been increased.
(Mühlacker) “We see the renewed award and the trust placed in us by one of the most renowned automotive brands in the world as evidence of our excellent performance in cross-border factory supply,” says Michael Craiss, Managing Director of Craiss Generation Logistik GmbH & Co. KG. Within four years, Craiss has increased the number of transports for the automotive manufacturer twelvefold. “Despite the currently difficult-to-calculate situation in the shipping economy and industry-specific crises such as the driver shortage, we have managed to respond flexibly to disruptions and ensure a reliable supply to our customer’s plants,” Craiss continues.
To this end, Craiss Hungary now operates 20 vehicles that serve round trips between the German plants and Hungary as well as Slovakia. Craiss Romania has expanded its transports to eight trucks daily. However, the round trips now handled by Craiss Poland are completely new. Initially, four vehicles operate on the route between the Czech Republic and the Craiss logistics center in Freiberg, Baden-Württemberg. Thus, over 30 trucks from the Eastern European Craiss companies are currently on the road daily on behalf of the German automotive manufacturer. They are loaded with time-sensitive components such as cable harnesses, intake manifolds, glass panes, or empty goods like boxes and racks that are returned to the component manufacturers.
