(Hamburg) This morning, on March 1, 2023, the Danish logistics provider DSV opened its new location for general cargo transport. With this, DSV expands its offerings and now complements freight traffic in Hamburg with national and international general cargo.
The new depot complements DSV’s Air & Sea and Solutions locations in Hamburg and enhances the Road business. Peter Fog-Petersen, Executive Vice President Road DACH at DSV, is pleased that DSV can now bring its general cargo expertise to Hamburg: “This significantly strengthens our national and international general cargo transport. With proximity to the port and excellent highway connections, we can serve our customers even better. This is a matter close to my heart and for DSV, a special moment and the beginning of a stronger presence in the region.”
The opening in Altenwerder aligns with DSV’s strategy to expand the general cargo network.
DSV Road and Solutions at the Same Location
On 6,800 m², DSV in Altenwerder ensures the timely handling of general cargo shipments with direct services from Hamburg, for both national and international shipments as well as partial and full loads.
In addition to the transshipment hall for general cargo traffic, DSV Solutions is also represented with a logistics warehouse on the same premises. The Solutions warehouse in Altenwerder can meet individual customer and industry requirements through a wide range of services from storage to fulfillment, whether as a transshipment warehouse, customs warehouse, distribution center, or stock warehouse. There is a specialization in the storage of products with lithium-ion batteries.
