VTL Freight Cooperation Celebrates 25 Years
10. March 2023Joachim Holstein has been the Group Officer for Inland Navigation at duisport since March 1 of this year. In this newly created position, he reports directly to the entire board. The 55-year-old will be the primary contact for customers and terminals handling waterborne cargo in the Port of Duisburg and will also act as a link to associations and political institutions.
(Duisburg) Furthermore, Joachim Holstein will intensify collaboration with all other ports along the Rhine and will promote the networking and digitalization of inland navigation along with the associated port industry – for example, through the establishment of the RiverPorts Planning and Information System (RPIS) by RheinPorts GmbH.
Joachim Holstein has worked for nearly thirty years at HTAG Häfen und Transport AG, ten of which he served as a member of the board. Most recently, he was the managing director of HGK Dry Shipping GmbH. In this role, he was significantly responsible for the spin-off of HTAG’s inland navigation activities and their integration into HGK Dry Shipping. Additionally, the trained freight forwarding merchant and business economist (VWA) has served as managing director of MASSLOG GmbH, Duisburg Bulk Terminal GmbH, and Navigare Stauerei- und Speditions GmbH.
Recognized Expert in Inland Navigation

With his many years of expertise and competence, he will sustainably strengthen the connection between duisport and our customers as well as the Rhine ports.
