Hupac experiences declining transport demand in Europe in 2023
13. February 2024The Deutsche See Fish Manufactory relies on Webfleet Cold Chain, the new integrated solution for temperature-controlled transport from Webfleet. With real-time position and temperature data on a single platform, the solution supports Deutsche See in continuously ensuring cold chains during the transport of their temperature-sensitive goods.
(Leipzig/Bremerhaven) René Schönfeld, Service Project Manager at Deutsche See explains: “Webfleet Cold Chain records the temperatures throughout the entire tour. We receive a temperature update from the vehicle every minute, which is captured by the sensors and then sent back to Webfleet, allowing us to track the temperatures in real-time. If the threshold values applicable to our products are exceeded or not reached, the system immediately sends us a corresponding alert.” This enables dispatchers and drivers to respond promptly and pragmatically at any time to ensure compliance with the cold chain.
By linking data on the cooling status of the goods with location and historical data, Deutsche See can also accurately trace and reconstruct events such as the exceeding or falling below critical threshold values at any time. This not only creates greater legal certainty for the company but also allows it to optimize its own processes and reliably uphold its quality promise.
Sustainably and Continuously Improve Driver Behavior
Deutsche See successfully uses Webfleet to sustainably and continuously improve the driving behavior of drivers during delivery tours. The tool Webfleet OptiDrive is used for this purpose. This provides both the drivers themselves and the dispatchers with important information on fuel consumption, idling, adherence to a constant and environmentally friendly speed, as well as speed violations, noticeable driving maneuvers, and shifting and coasting behavior.
“With the generated data, we can train our drivers specifically and support them in acting responsibly in their daily routines. In employee discussions, we analyze their driving behavior together with the drivers and strive to improve continuously. As a result, since the introduction of Webfleet OptiDrive, we have significantly reduced the number of workshop visits for the vehicles and also the fuel consumption of the fleet,” says Schönfeld.
