4. March 2025The Craiss Generation Logistik Austria GmbH and Co. KG establishes its competence in the mobility sector with its branch in Ebergassing near Vienna. At the largest site of the corporate group, covering 42,000 square meters, the logistics service provider supports a leading provider of mobility solutions from Vienna in the area of production and warehouse logistics.
(Mühlacker/Ebergassing) Since the start of operations in autumn 2024, Craiss Austria has expanded its collaboration at the Ebergassing site: In addition to shuttle services, the company now also manages a second business unit of the mobility customer. The seven warehouses at the site have been equipped with modern warehouse technology, and further enhancements are ongoing. Currently, the second phase of IT system integration is underway.
“The successful tender won by our customer in the mobility sector and the successful launch of our site in Ebergassing were an excellent opportunity for Craiss Austria to further expand our services and set the course for future partnerships,” explains Christian Walzl, Managing Director of Craiss Generation Logistik Austria GmbH and Co. KG. The strength of the logistics expert from Mühlacker lies primarily in assessing customer needs and providing tailored solutions – such as choosing a well-connected location of the right size, with all necessary technical features. “After a successful start, we are now expanding our offerings and managing a second business unit of our customer,” adds Walzl.
Expansion of Services
Since the start of operations at the Ebergassing site, the focus of collaboration has been on material provision and order picking, similar to what Craiss has already implemented in Weiz for a technology corporation. After the successful launch, the service portfolio was expanded to include shuttle services, with which Craiss supplies the customer’s plant several times a day. Saruul Od, site manager in Ebergassing, says: “In the long term, we want to handle additional material volumes at the Ebergassing site, in addition to providing spare parts.” As a logistics service provider, Craiss aims to offer its customers an even broader range of services. Investments will be made in construction measures to create a warehouse infrastructure that is precisely tailored to the needs of the customers. “Our goal is to continuously expand our capacities while always developing efficient, customer-oriented solutions,” says Od.
Largest Location of the Craiss Group in Ebergassing
On a total area of 82,000 square meters, Craiss has 42,000 square meters exclusively available for the inbound and outbound logistics of the major customer. Thus, the Ebergassing site is the largest of the corporate group. Initially, Craiss Austria rented six halls with 37,000 square meters of warehouse space. After the successful start of the collaboration, the logistics service provider was able to win a second business unit of the mobility provider as a customer and expanded the warehouse space by adding another hall. The seven halls are currently partially equipped and are being outfitted with further modern warehouse technology, including pallet racks, cantilever racks, and shelving systems, block and small parts storage, to ensure maximum flexibility in all processes.
Integration of IT Systems
Starting with around 20 employees, there are now about 40 Craiss employees working in Ebergassing. Saruul Od, former project manager and site manager at the Weiz location, has taken over as site manager for Ebergassing and was already involved in all decisions for the new warehouse space during the planning phase. Together with his team, he implemented new, customized processes for the customers. The team is currently working on the IT integration between the customer systems and Craiss’s systems. “Through the transparent processes, we were able to provide our new customer with solutions tailored to their requirements from the very beginning,” explains the site manager.
Important Milestones for Craiss Austria
To establish Craiss Generation Logistik Austria as a full-service logistics provider, two important milestones have been set since the opening of the young company with Weiz and Ebergassing. Christian Walzl emphasizes that it is now essential to extend the company’s services to various industries, generate new partnerships through tenders, and thus further expand the location network in Austria. Walzl: “We are only at the beginning of our expansion strategy and see many opportunities for future growth.”
