New Inland Terminal of BLG in Ahlhorn Begins Operations
3. July 2025The Federal Association of Goods Transport, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) e. V. once again provides its proven alternative route map in digital form: Integrated into the app of the Autobahn GmbH, it conveniently displays driving bans and suitable alternative routes on smartphones or tablets.
(Berlin) In Germany, according to the holiday travel regulation, there is an additional driving ban for solo trucks over 7.5 tons permissible total weight (zGM), trucks with trailers, and articulated lorries on all Saturdays (from July 5 to August 30, 2025) from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on numerous highway and certain federal road sections. Therefore, the Federal Association of Goods Transport, Logistics and Disposal (BGL) e. V. is once again offering its proven alternative route map this year. This has been updated in coordination with the responsible traffic authorities.
Facilitating work for drivers
The map is published in cooperation with the Autobahn GmbH of the Federal Government in a user-friendly manner in the Autobahn app. Those who used the app for the alternative route map last year should update it if necessary. Additionally, the map is available for download on the BGL website.
BGL Board Spokesman Prof. Dr. Dirk Engelhardt: “We hope that with the free digital alternative route map this year, we can make the work of all truck drivers who are even on the road on Saturdays for our supply easier. A heartfelt thank you to the Autobahn GmbH for integrating the map into the app.”
Digital solutions to relieve traffic
Dr. Michael Güntner, CEO of Autobahn GmbH: “The highway is the central transport route for our goods. To support truck drivers in the dense travel traffic of the summer months, we have once again integrated the alternative route map into the Autobahn app this year. The close cooperation with BGL once again demonstrates how digital solutions can contribute to relieving traffic while simultaneously improving travel quality for all road users.”
